The 2026 color forecast points to one clear direction: a nostalgic wink to summer sunsets, warm, golden tones are gaining ground across markets and genders, and speaking to our inner child, Powder Pink is coming back to the female European market.
For brands, choosing the right colors is one of the highest-stakes decisions of the collection cycle. Getting it wrong means unsold stock will pile up. Getting it right, on the contrary, means business. A color forecast built on real consumer data is needed to back intuition to guarantee sellthrough.
The forecast on this article is based on Heuritech’s market analysis of what people wear, as seen in images shared on social media (notably Instagram and TikTok). We tracked eight shades across women and men, worldwide, in the US and in Europe. Three stories stand out:
- Powder Pink is back, driven by European women (+14% forecasted increase this winter season).
- Greenfinch is an early signal, led too by European women (+17% worldwide forecasted increase this winter), and becoming popular between American men (+12% forecasted worldwide growth during the winter).
- Yellows are building a bigger moment, with two full color families (yellow orange and yellow) on the rise and men leading the way.
- Hues of blue are gaining protagonism among European women, and stronger shades, such as Carmine red, are rising in visibility among European men.

Powder pink: a European comeback
Powder Pink is up 4% among women worldwide, and Europe is driving that growth with a 14% jump this winter season. The US follows at a slower pace (+3% for the women market).
This soft pastel is classified as a comeback trend, carried by trendsetters. Though it’s mostly extended among the mentioned segment, its adoption falls within the early adopters and mainstream consumers too, symbolising wider market adoption.
The menswear story is more modest. Powder Pink grows 1% among men worldwide and 3% in the US, but stays flat in Europe (0%). For now, this is mainly a womenswear opportunity, and above all a European one.

Greenfinch: the early signal driven by menswear
Greenfinch, a fresh yellow green, is growing 12% during Winter 2026 among men worldwide, and expected to slow down during the Spring 2027 season, growing 3% in visibility. The color growth is slower in the female market women (+5% during Winter season).
A special mention is required for the US’ Men for Spring 2027, where the color will grow 18%. It’s not the case for the European male market, where the trend will decline 5% during Spring. Within women, however, the story is different. Greenfinch is expected to grow 16% during the Spring 2027 season in the European market, and 10% in the US.
Its current magnitude is still small to medium, and it is driven by trendsetters. However, it will be present among all consumer ages and types. It has a commercial score of 71 in the European female market, although it’s important to note that it will only constitute 0.04% of assortments within the 17% cool tone market share.

The golden shift: why yellow is the color story of 2026
The biggest takeaway of this color forecast is not a single shade. It is a color family rising at the same time, pointing to a broader shift toward warm, golden tones.
The yellow family: hues of sun
Yellow Orange is the anchor of this family. It grows 10% among UK men and 6% among European women during this Winter 2026 season, with a big magnitude, meaning it already reaches a large audience. It will keep both paces during the Spring 2027 season.
Light Turmeric is the softer member of the family. It grows 9% among men and 3% among women worldwide; 14% for men in the US, leading with a commercial score of 72, and 19% in the male UK market.
Ochre Yellow, a deeper and earthier tone, grows 8% among men, and stays stable at a -0.3% visibility decrease among women worldwide. Saffron Yellow grows 4% among men and 1% among women worldwide.
Menswear is leading the charge
Across the yellow shades presented, men grow faster than women worldwide every single time. The gap is widest on Light Turmeric (+9% vs +3%) and Ochre Yellow (+8% vs -0.3%).
For menswear brands, this is the clearest color opportunity of 2026. For womenswear, yellows are rising too, but the regional variation plays a much important factor to take into account.
Regional differences: Europe vs US
A global color forecast is where a brand should start, but it’s not the final answer. It’s important to comprehend the nuances between seasons, consumer types and markets. While a shade is booming withing a certain consumer in a particular region, it might flop in another.
In Europe, women are the main drivers of Powder Pink (+9%) and Light Turmeric (+7%). Other interesting colors to take into account are shades of blue: Turquoise and Pearl Aqua, both expected to increase 21% in visibility during the winter 2026 season. Men keep pushing Buttermilk yellow (+20%) and Light Turmeric (+13%), but several warm shades lose momentum, such as Vanilla Yellow (-3%) and Mint Green for men (-3%).
In the US, menswear is the more reliable engine, with Light Turmeric (+14%) and Pineapple Yellow (+6%) leading. American women are on to yellows too, but different shades: Popcorn yellow is expected to increase 20% during the 2026 winter season, followed by Buttermilk yellow (+15%) and Vanilla Yellow (+11%). Multiple shades of green, such as Duck, Sage, and Pine Tree are declining between 3 and 4%.
Brands selling in multiple markets have to adjust their color mix by region. A global palette does not work or, at least, it will not perform as well.
