TikTok Fashion Trend Data Is Now LIVE on Heuritech

Key takeaways

  • TikTok is now part of Heuritech's fashion trend data, alongside Instagram and Little Red Book, also known as Xiaohongshu (for Chinese market).
  • Each platform brings a distinct, genuine view of what consumers are actually wearing, and combining them gives every forecast a broader, more representative base to stand on.
  • TikTok fashion trend data has already unlocked 30% more trends, and 40% more trends now carry a full 24-month forecast, on the same image recognition technology that delivers 92% accuracy.

Heuritech’s fashion trend data just got broader. TikTok is now part of the platform’s data sources, joining Instagram and Little Red Book (in China) as a live signal behind Heuritech’s forecasts. The rollout starts in the US and Europe, with more geographies following in the coming months.

Social media has always been the fastest, most honest record of what people actually wear. Before a trend shows up in any report, it has usually already shown up in someone’s feed, in the form of a post, a reel or a video. Adding TikTok as another data source means Heuritech’s fashion trend data collection methodology now reads more of those posts, so more attributes and potentially trends become visible sooner.

Instagram gives the forecast its depth

Instagram has been the foundation of Heuritech’s fashion data since day one. Nearly a decade of history lives here, and with close to 3 billion people worldwide sharing what they wear on it every month, it remains the deepest, most established source behind Heuritech’s forecasts.

The depth comes from how the accounts inside it are organized, not just how many there are. Heuritech splits every market into three panels, Trendsetters, Early Adopters and Mainstream, ranging from the earliest movers to the accounts that only pick up a look once it has already arrived. Four age groups and coverage across 16 geographies sit on top of that, so a trend can be read by who’s wearing it and where, not just how often.

Nearly a decade of that history is what lets Instagram data support a full 24-month forecast. The panels answer who is wearing something and where; the years behind them answer how long it’s likely to last.

Little Red Book, also known as Xiaohongshu, brings a local view of China

For the Chinese market, trend insights come from a different platform entirely: Little Red Book, also known as Xiaohongshu, where fashion discovery in the region actually happens, and where more than 300 million people go every month to decide what to buy next.

It gives Heuritech a genuine, local view of Chinese consumer behavior rather than an assumption borrowed from Western markets, because fashion doesn’t move the same way in every market. Little Red Book is what makes that local read real instead of approximate.

TikTok adds volume and speed

TikTok moves fast. Content turns over in quick cuts and constant refreshes, and the audience behind it is enormous, close to 2 billion people every month, with roughly seven in ten Gen Z social media users keeping an active account.

Most of what gets posted there is exactly the kind of content Heuritech was built to read: outfit videos, get ready with me routines, styling clips, and people simply filming what they’re wearing.

That scale translates directly into depth. A broader pool of source images means niche trends that used to sit just below the detection threshold now clear it, and every forecast gets a fuller, more representative read of the market as a result.

Take the Messy Girl aesthetic, already flagged as rising in Heuritech’s own data. The same aesthetic is lighting up TikTok in parallel: in September alone, the #messygirl has logged 1.1 billion views, with 44,000 creators posting under it. That’s the kind of independent cultural signal TikTok data will now feed directly into Heuritech’s forecasts, not just confirm from the outside.

TikTok: #messygirl

TikTok is folded into the same forecasting platform that already tracks Instagram and Little Red Book (for China), and into the same Trendsetters, Early Adopters and Mainstream structure that makes sense of both. It’s read exactly the way every other source is read, the imagery itself, not captions, hashtags or video titles, the same difference that has always set Heuritech’s data apart from a keyword search.

What a broader base actually pays off

Three different data sources give Heuritech a fuller picture than any one platform alone ever could. More real consumer images behind every trend means more attributes reach the volume needed to be forecast with confidence, and every trend already on the platform gets a stronger foundation underneath it.

TikTok now feeds into that same engine, running at 92% accuracy, up to 24-month out, across more than 2,000 fashion attributes and over 1 billion consumer images analyzed since 2015. Three platforms, one forecast, and more evidence behind every single trend than Heuritech has ever had.

The result of a bigger pool of images analysed already shows in the catalog. In the US and Europe, Heuritech now sees 30% more trends that were not visible before, along with 35% more trends with a 12-month forecast and 40% more with a full 24-month forecast.
