While Copenhagen may not be one of the traditional “Big Four” fashion capitals, its influence on the global fashion scene continues to rise. As the undisputed fashion capital of Scandinavia, the city has established a strong identity around contemporary design, Scandinavian minimalism, as well as the so-called “Copenhagen maximalism” that embraces bold colour, clashing prints, playful proportions and eclectic styling.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, Copenhagen Fashion Week marked two decades of global influence with its Spring/Summer 2027 milestone season. In this article, we will dive into five trends spotted on the Copenhagen Fashion Week SS27 runway and explore how they align with Heuriteh’s forecasted consumer data, giving a broader perspective on their potential impact beyond the runway.
This article incorporates Heuritech’s forecasted consumer data for women in Europe, covering forecasted growth for April–June 2027 vs April-June 2026 , if nothing else is specified.
1. Same Print, Different Scale
In fashion lately, we’ve observed how maximalism has been slowly but steadily taking over minimalism. Fashion houses are experimenting with prints, color clashes, and shapes defined by volume, structure, and a more extroverted attitude. Copenhagen Fashion Week is usually print-heavy, but what feels fresh this season is the way brands are playing with the same print within a look, using different scales and proportions.
Take Nicklas Skovgaard, for example, featuring different sizes of Checked. The print Checked is forecasted to grow +3% in visibility among women in Europe during April-June 2027 vs April-June 2026, considered a Come Back with a Big magnitude among Trendsetters. Collina Strada styled a Top with Irregular Horizontal Stripes (+3%) together with Vertical Stripes Lifestyle Pants, which are forecasted to grow +3% within the Lifestyle Pants category.

And it doesn’t stop there. At the end of 2025, we launched our Trend Calendar for the upcoming year of 2026, highlighting Big Dots as one of the 12 trends. During the summer of 2026, Dots have been popping up everywhere. Big Dots grew +51% in visibility during July 2026 vs July 2025, and Sson is betting on the print for SS27 too, featuring a layered dress with different versions of dots, ranging from Big to Small Dots (+4%).
2. Fringe Fever
In July 2026, Fringe had grown +17% compared to the same month last year. Forecasted data suggests that the Fringe Detail will continue to rise in visibility, with a growth of +9% during Apr-June 2027 vs Apr-June 2026. The trend is considered a Rising Star with a strong commercial score. Malene Birger, OpéraSport , and MKDT Studio are some of the designers that incorporated Fringes into their collections. By Malene Birger worked with Fringes as a way of decorating the pieces, with belts of Fringes, Fringes peeking through a windbreaker, and Fringes at the end of dresses.

In our Trend Edit FW27/28, one of the key themes we explore is Max Glamour, where maximalism and glamour come together through bold, expressive details. Within this aesthetic, Fringe emerges as a key trend. Our forecast indicates that Fringe will continue to gain visibility into SS27, while also evolving into a more autumnal expression for FW27/28. Rather than being limited to occasionwear and fringe dresses, the detail is expected to move into outerwear, appearing across coats, jackets and layered silhouettes. This shift signals an opportunity for Fringe to become a more versatile, everyday fashion statement, translating its glamorous appeal into a more seasonal and wearable direction.
3. Into the blue
In perhaps the hottest summer ever recorded in Europe, we’ve been craving turquoise waters, light transparent fabrics, and anything that makes us think of the ocean. Different hues of blue were spotted across the runway. While Pastel Blue (+6%) was part of many collections, more vibrant hues, including Pearl Aqua (+10%) and Turquoise (+15%), were also spotted. Both shades have already been making waves among Trendsetters this summer, bringing a fresh, more vibrant take on blue. And if the SS27 runways are anything to go by, we’ll be seeing a lot more of them next summer, something our data confirms, too.

4. Capri Pants

Spotted at designers such as Almada Label, The Garment, Caro Editions, among others, the Capri Pants were styled with everything from leg warmers to Thong Sandals and Ballet Flats in both sportier and chicer looks.
The Capri Pants, also known as Below The Knee Pants, are forecasted to grow +5%. They are considered a Consistent Riser with a Big magnitude, with the main market being Trendsetters.

5. The Flow Must Go On
Back in our SS26 Women’s Fashion Week Report we explained a season that revolved around texture and volume, shape and drape, form and flow. It celebrated sculptural softness, daring romanticism, and unexpected extroversion. Said and done, that was exactly what the season was about. And looking at SS27, it seems we were onto something. Copenhagen Fashion Week shows that this direction is sticking around, with plenty of airy, voluminous pieces that still feel surprisingly easy to wear day to day. Big Tank Sleeve Dresses (+5%) and Tent Dresses (+3%) are good examples, spotted on the runway in fabrics such as See Through (+0.9%) and Lace (+0.4%). Basically, bigger shapes are here to stay, just make them wearable.
